I have a piece of old plaster on my desk that comes from the ancient site of the Herodium in the land of Israel. It reminds me of the humility of our Lord Jesus.
Herodium was a lavish residence that served as King Herod’s summer palace, a sumptuous villa with opulent apartments furnished for the royal family and their guests. It boasted a Roman bath with hot and cold pools, surrounded by colonnaded gardens.
It’s said that Herod built his palace to commemorate a victory in battle, but knowing Herod’s selfish ambition it’s possible he had another purpose in mind. Some have conjectured that Herod, despite inquiring of the scribes (Matt. 2:4-6), knew about Micah’s prediction that Israel’s Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. He may have wanted Israel’s King to be born in his palace.
The Father’s plan, however, was for our Lord to be born not in a castle but in a cave. It was in a lowly manger that the little Lord Jesus was born.

New lawsuit challenges Obama’s citizenship

Reed is not required and does not have the authority to investigate the qualifications of candidates for president and vice president.
This may or may not be true. I can’t address the law. If it is true, then it begs the question – who IS charged with verifying this? It’s quickly becoming clear that even if Barak Obama is an American citizen by birth, this issue needs to be cleared up in case it ever is a real issue down the road.
One would think a Constitutional scholar would have every interest in being the pivotal player in resolving such an important issue. We’re waiting, Mr. President Elect. It seems to be the standard. It’s not my job and you don’t have standing. The vetting of candidates is apparently conducted by magical elves.
What ever way this turns out, we have got to determine who has standing? who is supposed to do the vetting, how do they go through the vetting process, I do not trust Congress anylonger. They are bunch of self serving, greedy, corrupt individuals. This just may bring us to a Constitutional crisis this country needs. It’s time to clean house.
A group of Washington residents have filed a lawsuit with the state Supreme Court asking the state’s votes for President-Elect Barack Obama be set aside.
James E. Broe, of King County, and 12 others claim Obama never established that he is a natural-born American citizen as required by the Constitution, and that Obama ran under a false name.
A similar suit before the election was dismissed in King County.
Obama is set to receive the state’s 11 electoral votes when the Electoral College delegates meet in Olympia on Dec. 15.
Similar lawsuits have been filed in other states.
Dave Ammons, spokesman for Secretary of State Sam Reed’s office, said in an e-mail to the Herald that the state’s position is that Reed is not required and does not have the authority to investigate the qualifications of candidates for president and vice president.
“Under state law, the Republican and Democratic tickets are automatically placed on the fall ballot after the national party conventions,” Ammons said. “Other tickets can qualify by having 1,000 registered Washington voters sign petitions at conventions. The state Elections Division examines the signatures, but does not investigate the qualifications of the candidates.”

So far there is supposedly 17 different suits filed asking for the proof. This is not a case that the Conservatives simply made up to take down Obama, this has been around since early summer time. Simply look at the evidence that is out there and ask WHY hasn’t Obama simply released his Birth Certificate and don’t say he has because he has not. If you want to point to the one that has been out on the web go right ahead, it has been proven to be a forgery.
Why does Grandma say he was born in Kenya? Why does the village where he was supposedly born have a tribute to him as a shrine? Why has every hospital in Hawaii have NO RECORD of he or his mother ever being there? How could he travel to Pakistan on an Indonesian Pass Port, why is he listed as a citizen of Indonesia and as the name of Barry Sotoreo? Where are any of his school records?
I refuse to sit back and watch people simply want to tramp on the Constitution as Ayers did the American Flag. Jut show the proof Barak and end this thing once and for all. Why fight it if you are what you say you are.

CHICAGO — The U.S. Supreme Court will consider Friday whether to take up a lawsuit challenging President-elect Barack Obama’s U.S. citizenship, a continuation of a New Jersey case embraced by some opponents of Obama’s election.
The meeting of justices will coincide with a vigil by the filer’s supporters in Washington on the steps of the nation’s highest court.
The suit originally sought to stay the election, and was filed on behalf of Leo Donofrio against New Jersey Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells.
Legal experts say the appeal has little chance of succeeding, despite appearing on the court’s schedule. Legal records show it is only the tip of an iceberg of nationwide efforts seeking to derail Obama’s election over accusations that he either wasn’t born a U.S. citizen or that he later renounced his citizenship in Indonesia.

The Republicans just don’t get it. Why are they losing seats? Why are WE losing representation? Simple, the Republicans have thrown away the Conservative platform, they run as Conservatives and when elected they govern like Democrats. The Right is staying home and allowing the left to drive us further down in hopes that the Republicans will come to their senses. It ain’t happenin.
The Republicans are making deals in DC as to who is going to be in charge and what do we get? Another RINO…. Promising leadership positions for a vote, pork, patronage etc…. They are giving away the store just like the Democrats and who is paying? We are.
When the time was right to help this economy and expose who was at fault, why this economic collapse is happening, the Republicans hid behind a rock and voted to spend almost a trillion dollars to “Bail Out” the economy? Over 80% of the people were and are against this. But, who cares? They don’t
The leadership at the RNC is licking their wounds trying to figure out what happened. This alone should tell you that we no longer have anyone with a clue. They want to get rid of the Reagan era and usher in a new big government agenda and duplicate the Democrats after all the Democrats are winning right? My God, I could go into a rant listing everything they they have done and continue to do wrong. First, have all the Republicans throw their spine out the window?
McCain? Where was he? He should have been the leader to stand up and say NO! Instead he paused his campaign and ran to DC to say, Yes, we need to do this and do it now? That was when he lost the election. The Republican candidates including McCain sat back and allowed the Democrats paint them with a broad brush, blamed them for everything and NO ONE fought back. When Palin attempted to they said she had gone rogue on them. Now it is her fault we lost. Please, if it wasn’t for her the O man would have swept every state.
So how do we get the Republican Party back? How do we steer this ship that uses to small of a rudder like the Titanic? Simple, we install a new larger rudder. We need to turn this shipwreck back on course to take back and save this country from the socialist direction we are headed.
The people in this country and the Republican Party do not realize the power they have, the real election is in the Primary. The Primary is where election are won and lost. We have been fed the fact that who ever the “Party” endorses is the candidate to vote for. So for years we have had to choose between the lesser of two evils. I personally am sick of it. I am tired of voting for evil no matter how lesser they are from the Democrat opponent. So do we have to sit back and allow the Republican leadership tell us who to vote for? NO, we need to tell them the type of candidate and leader we are looking for. The days of backroom deals and it’s your turn to run have got to end. A new era is beginning and “The People” are back in charge, the leadership from the President on down have thrown us overboard for political expediency, political correctness and their addiction to our money.
We need to organize at the grass roots level in every state starting with the states that have a RINO representing them in Congress. Now is the time to look for the cream of the crop in a candidate that can and will run in a Primary against them in 2010. Let them know we are coming and we are coming to take this Party and Country back and right this sinking ship.
The Republican leadership doesn’t have a clue, we do and we will take over from here. Thanks for your effort but you have failed us for the last time and it is time to change. Yes we can.

VETERANS DAY — 11 NOVEMBER 2008
Tomorrow is Veterans Day.
We encourage all Patriots to set aside time and reflect on the sacrifice of our Patriot veterans and those serving today, and honor them accordingly.
On November 11, 1921, an unknown American soldier from World War I was buried in Arlington National Cemetery, in recognition of WWI veterans and in conjunction with the timing of cessation of hostilities at 11 a.m., November 11, 1918 (the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month). President Warren Harding requested that: “All … citizens … indulge in a period of silent thanks to God for these … valorous lives and of supplication for His Divine mercy … on our beloved country.” Inscribed on the Tomb are the words: “Here lies in honored glory an American soldier know but to God.” The day became known as “Armistice Day.” In 1954, Congress, wanting to recognize the sacrifice of veterans since WWI, proposed to change Armistice Day to Veterans Day in their honor. President Dwight D. Eisenhower, former Supreme Commander in WWII, signed the legislation.
To honor those veterans who sacrificed all, an Army honor guard from the 3d U.S. Infantry (The Old Guard) keeps day and night vigil at Arlington. At 11 a.m. Tuesday, a combined color guard representing all military service branches executes “Present Arms” at the tomb for the laying of a wreath by the president, followed by “Taps.”
More than a million Patriots stand ready, or are actively defending our nation today. These men and women were not drafted into service, but volunteered to serve.
Every Friday, in our Profiles in Valor section, we tell the stories of some of these volunteers from around the nation.
Today, we include some brief remarks from four uniformed Patriots who call our local community home — bright young people who could have pursued promising careers in the private sector, like many of their peers, but who chose a higher calling of service to our great nation. Mr. Alexander asked each of them for brief comment about that calling.
Will Supreme Court have say in presidency?
Monday, November 10th, 2008This issue has been the talk of blogs for 6 months or more and could have been easily rectified long ago to avoid the Constitutional crisis we are now facing and will soon come to a head. The simple remedy would have been for Obama to produce his birth certificate, if legit this would have gone away. He hasn’t, he chose to file for dismissal instead, he went to Hawaii and had the governor lock any birth records up, Why? What is he hiding?
More and more proof has come out that Obama was not born in Hawaii, proof that his mother was not in the country when he was supposedly born. The statement of the grandmother saying she was at the hospital in Kenya when he was born, conflicting statements from O and his sister on which hospital in Hawaii he was born. Simple proof of a birth certificate would end all speculation and not the phony one already posted on the internet.
So where do we go from here? How will this work out in the near future? If he proves this by Dec. 1st it’s over and we move on. But, if Dec 1st comes and goes Obama ignores the SCOTUS the next step is the Electoral College.
SCOTUS could TOTALLY IGNORE the issue and refuse to hear the case, citing lack of standing, but I think that they won’t. If they ignore this, then they might as well throw the Constitution out the window. It wouldn’t be worth the paper its written on. Anyone could then thumb their nose at the Constitution. I think they have to hear the case and demand the birth certificate.
Assuming Obama is found ineligible:
1. If BEFORE the Electoral College meets, McCain’s electors from all States would be seated (since Obama would not have been qualified) and the vote would be 538-0 (Article II, Section 1, Paragraph 3). This would happen because Obama would not have been qualified to run in the first place. Biden would be VP since the 12th Amendment provides for the separate election of POTUS and the VP. Biden would be eligible and his electors would elect him. Thus, a McCain/Biden term.
2. If AFTER the Electoral College meets and certifies him, but BEFORE inauguration, the 20th Amendment provides that, if before the time fixed for the beginning of his term, the President-Elect shall have failed to qualify, then the Vice President-Elect shall act as President until a President shall have qualified. The same scenario as in (2), above, would then likely apply.
3. If AFTER inauguration, the 25th Amendment would apply and Biden would be President and choose his VP (with Senate confirmation). However, McCain might be able to sue – based on fraud and demand that the scenario provided in (2), above, be applied. Or, barring that, a new election.
4. Of course, SCOTUS could decide to avoid (1), (2), and (3), above, by declaring a fraudulent election and ordering a new one with verified eligible candidates. This would necessitate the implementation of Continuity Of Government laws – allowing Bush to remain POTUS until the election. Probably with the caveat that no new laws be passed in the interim.
I fear for this country and what we are about to witness. God Bless America and be prepared.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice David Souter has rejected an emergency appeal for the court to halt the tabulation of the 2008 presidential election results until Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama documents his eligibility to run for the office, according to an attorney who brought the action that challenges the Illinois senator’s standing in the race.
However, the issue isn’t going away, at least for now, since Souter set a schedule for a response from Obama to the challenge from attorney Philip J. Berg.
As WND reported, Berg brought his claims to the Supreme Court after a federal judge dismissed his lawsuit alleging Obama is ineligible to be president because he possibly was born in Kenya.
The judge concluded Berg lacks standing to bring the action.
The 34-page memorandum that accompanied the court order from Judge R. Barclay Surrick said ordinary citizens can’t sue to ensure that a presidential candidate actually meets the constitutional requirements of the office.
Instead, Surrick said Congress could determine “that citizens, voters, or party members should police the Constitution’s eligibility requirements for the Presidency,” but that it would take new laws to grant individual citizens that ability.
“Until that time,” Surrick says, “voters do not have standing to bring the sort of challenge that Plaintiff attempts to bring.”
In a statement today, Berg said he was told by a clerk for Souter that his application for an injunction to stay the election was denied. But he also said the defendants “are required to respond to the Writ of Certiorari” by Dec. 1.
