Rus Thompson on Beck 6-26-09 Conyors/Video

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

What is going on here, Conyers wife busted for taking cash bribes and accepting $40,000 in jewelery. She pleads guilty? Why? Maybe to keep this as quiet as possible so not to attract attention to her husband? John Conyors is the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. Their job is to oversee the administration of Justice within the Federal Courts. At one point Conyors was in favor of investigating ACORN but recently stopped and changed his mind. We think Nadler who is the Congressman from Brooklyn where the office os ACORN and the Working Families Party is located. They share the same address. Coincidental? Doubt it. Watch the video.

Political Greed

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

With all due respect to Senator DeMint, I disagree. Earmarks are not the problem. His explanation is that Congress earmarks money for low priority projects rather than the high priority projects preferred by the Executive Branch. But who sets the priorities? Are we to believe that the Executive Branch is better qualified to set priorities than is the Congress? For that matter, why should we believe that either is qualified to set priorities?

The real problem is that not only the earmarks themselves, but much of the rest of the appropriations bills, are unconstitutional. They appropriate money for things over which Congress has no authority. Article I, Section 8, does NOT give Congress authority to appropriate money for museums, mass transit, farm subsidies, or bailouts. We should be focusing on the unconstitutional aspect of what Congress does. While earmarks gain public interest, they are only a small part of a big problem.

Political Greed.

As strange as it sounds, one of the greatest threats to individual liberty in the United States is an obscure legislative tactic called “earmarking.” As you probably know, earmarks are provisions individual senators or representatives drop into congressional spending bills to fund specific projects, usually in their home state or district. Members of Congress insert these provisions to circumvent the usual process by which executive branch agencies decide how to spend the funds Congress gives them. Earmarks are the means by which low-priority projects are funded in favor of higher-priority projects: you could call it affirmative action for pork.

Earmarks are also the means by which Americans are conditioned to believe that the purpose of their congressman and senators is to get money for their districts and states. And with all good intentions, earmarks are the means by which our free market is being swallowed by an increasingly socialist state.

Take any bill in Congress that impinges on a sector of our economy or on individual liberty itself, and you will find it festooned with earmarks to assuage the concerns of congressmen and senators otherwise unwilling to accept the slow creep of collectivism.

Dems block military vote in New York special election

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

I don’t care who you support in this race, point is every vote is supposed to count, correct? Why do we allow this corruption to continue?

If this was the nation it used to be, the Repubs would appeal to the Federal Court, and the judge would summarily vacate the boards decision, based on the fact that they are ignoring the rules that they and the Legislature agreed upon.

It is estimated that a minimum of 45 days is needed for the overseas military to get their ballots and return them. In 9 of the counties, the ballots went out on March 12 and one on March 13 giving them less than THREE WEEKS to mail the ballots all the way to Podunk, Afghanistan and back. The Obama Justice Dept instead of asking for a full 45 days from mailing out to receive the ballots asked for only 30 days. How’s that for looking out for out military men and women?

via Dems block military vote in New York special election.

The outcome of a special Congressional election in New York’s 20th Congressional District will likely turn on the illegal exclusion of up to 1,000 overseas military ballots, which otherwise would have tipped the race in favor of James Tedisco (R). Tedisco and Scott Murphy (D) are in a dead heat, with 77,225 votes each.

Democrats on the state elections board blocked GOP attempts to allow overseas military voting in the special election. Overseas ballots take weeks to reach voters and be returned unless special measures are taken to speed things up. But the elections officials refused to do anything to speed things up, or mail the ballots out early enough. The result is that perhaps 90 percent of the ballots will be tossed in the trash without ever being counted. (Military ballots are cast mostly for Republican candidates).

House Passes Mandatory National Service Bill

Here it is, passed in the house all the time we were focused on the AIG fiasco they were passing this thing. Can we impeach all of congress for this? Have we heard any debate? NO! Have we heard any thing from any of our congressman? NO!

House Passes Mandatory National Service Bill.

Legislation intensifies fears about Obama’s civilian national security force

The House passed a bill yesterday which includes disturbing language indicating young people will be forced to undertake mandatory national service programs as fears about President Barack Obama’s promised “civilian national security force” intensify.

The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act, known as the GIVE Act, was passed yesterday by a 321-105 margin and now goes to the Senate.

Under section 6104 of the bill, entitled “Duties,” in subsection B6, the legislation states that a commission will be set up to investigate, “Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.”

Section 120 of the bill also discusses the “Youth Engagement Zone Program” and states that “service learning” will be “a mandatory part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency.”

“The legislation, slated to cost $6 billion over five years, would create 175,000 “new service opportunities” under AmeriCorps, bringing the number of participants in the national volunteer program to 250,000. It would also create additional “corps” to expand the reach of volunteerism into new sectors, including a Clean Energy Corps, Education Corps, Healthy Futures Corps and Veterans Service Corps, and it expands the National Civilian Community Corps to focus on additional areas like disaster relief and energy conservation,” reports Fox News.

The Senate is also considering a similar piece of legislation known as the “Serve America Act,” which also includes language about “Youth Engagement Zones”.

Stimulus Bill Will Lead to "Unmitigated Disaster"

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

I completely agree with what is said in this video clip. Why haven’t we learned our lesson, remember our history and realize this bailout and the one that preceded this one is not the right medicine. Leave the economy alone, it will rebound on it’s own. Of course the liberals socialists in charge will not so we are screwed for years to come.

Peter Schiff Stimulus Bill Will Lead to “Unmitigated Disaster”: Tech Ticker, Yahoo! Finance.

The fiscal stimulus bill being debated in Congress not only won't help the economy, it will make the recession much worse, says Peter Schiff, president of Euro Pacific Capital.

Schiff scoffs at the notion the economic decline is starting to level off and concedes no government action means a “terrible” recession. But the path of increased government intervention will lead to “unmitigated disaster,” says Schiff, who gained notoriety in 2007-08 for his prescient calls on the housing bubble and U.S. stocks.

The problem, he says, is the government is trying to perpetuate a “phony economy” based on borrowing and spending. With the U.S. consumer tapped out, the government is “now taking on the mantle” of consumer of last resort, he continues, predicting the bond bubble will soon burst – if it hasn't already – ultimately leading to a collapse of the dollar and an “inflationary depression worse than anything any of us have ever seen.”

If nothing else, Schiff is an nonpartisan critic of American policymakers, comparing President Bush to Herbert Hoover and President Obama to FDR, and neither in a favorable way.

The Republican Party: It's time for a Revolt

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Time for a revolt? Yes, it is. It is actually long past due for one, and now is the time to start.

“The two enemies of the people are criminals and government,
so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution
so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.”
Thomas Jefferson

All over the country Republicans have been losing elections, from here in New York to the National elections. Why? Simple, they have lost their way and have strayed so far from their base no one wants to support them or vote for them.

The Republicans have had their chance to set the agenda, but over the past eight years they proved that once in DC, they throw their constituents under the bus. I feel sorry for the people that call me from the RNC looking for donations, I give them an earful, tell them to pass on my thoughts and concerns to the supposed “Leadership”. I have refused to donate but still get letters and questionnaires in the mail. We know these are only pretentious efforts to make us believe we are helping to set the agenda. No, the only thing the RNC looks for is that check in the envelope. I have been tempted to send these back empty.

Now it seems that all the Leaders are scratching their heads wondering what they have done wrong. We need new leaders they say, yet the ones that come to the forefront are from the same group that had a part in putting us in the situation we are in today.

Why are they scratching their heads anyway? If they had been listening to us, as they say, they would know why we are in the losers seat. Their answer to the question? Well that was revealed by Limbaugh in an insiders report from the Republican Retreat. Their orders are to basically “Retreat”, and now GW Bush is saying we all must get along. Who are they trying to kid, what are they trying to hide? Basically they want us to surrender to the left. Surrender? Sorry that word is not in my vocabulary.

This weekend we had our first meeting of Primary Challenge. The agenda for the next couple of years is to find candidates to run for the Erie County Legislature and other seats that are up in the county. Next year we will be running candidates to challenge the Party committee seats, both Republican and Democrats. The politicos have been in their own world of greed and corruption for so long, it is time to clean house.

It’s time to bring Primary Challenge to the National level.

So how do we take back the Republican Party and Congress and rebuild? We have to do this on two fronts. Taking over the committees at the local level is one step and is a long and tedious process but one that must be done. Usually committee seats are only up every two years. Here in New York, that election just occurred, so we have two years to get the right people in place. We need people, people that are fed up and willing to stop sitting on their apathy, stop being keyboard activists, to get up and do something about it.

The next step is one that has to start now, and the House of Representatives is a primary concern. Searching out Reagan Conservative Republicans to run in a Primary against the incumbents is the place to focus. We need to list the RINO’s that need to be eliminated in the next election and the Primary is where they are most vulnerable. By listing them now, making this list very public and in their faces, we can hold them accountable for their votes over the next two years. If they know we are coming and they lose, maybe, just maybe they will get the message that the base is taking the Party back..

We are fed up with the excessive spending, the bloated government, the taxes, the patronage, regulations, restrictions, earmarks, government intervention, government control and the surrendering of all we stand for as Reagan Conservatives. Smaller, more efficient, less intrusive government, the free markets, Capitalism and the infrastructure that made this the Great Country we are. We have become a government dependent society where government supposedly has the answers for everything. The same people that got us here are going to fix this mess? I think not.

Last I knew Congress had an approval rating of 12. This proves the point that WE, The People are no longer in control. It is time to put We The People back in charge.

The Republican Party: In need of a good revolt.

The first Gallup poll out on the Obama stimulus plan shows a divided country, with Republicans in a distinct minority and in opposition.

Democrats support the three-quarters of a trillion dollar plan (67 to 19 percent) as do Independents (54 to 37 percent). But Republicans stand in opposition (56 to 34 percent).

But taking a look at Republican Party reality inside the Washington beltway, we see a rudderless ship, out of touch with the grass roots of its own party.

With economy in shambles, Congress gets a raise

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Typical, just so dam typical. This country is on the verge of economic collapse and they see fit to continue to get their payraise. Congress approval rating has never been lower, people seem to forget that the Democrats took over two years ago and they have FAILED miserably.

It was Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Harry Reed and the rest of the ilk that watched as the mortgage market and high fuel costs caused the economy to implode and chose to do NOTHING about it. Yet, they deserve a pay raise? NO, they all deserve to be fired, every one of them that voted for this bailout needs to be removed from office. Instead they get a pay raise, are planning on yet another 700+ Billion bailout package. They can’t even tell us what the hell they did or are doing with all the billions that is out there and has had no effect on the economy.

TheHill.comWith economy in shambles, Congress gets a raise

A crumbling economy, more than 2 million constituents who have lost their jobs this year, and congressional demands of CEOs to work for free did not convince lawmakers to freeze their own pay.

Instead, they will get a $4,700 pay increase, amounting to an additional $2.5 million that taxpayers will spend on congressional salaries, and watchdog groups are not happy about it.

“As lawmakers make a big show of forcing auto executives to accept just $1 a year in salary, they are quietly raiding the vault for their own personal gain,” said Daniel O’Connell, chairman of The Senior Citizens League (TSCL), a non-partisan group. “This money would be much better spent helping the millions of seniors who are living below the poverty line and struggling to keep their heat on this winter.”

However, at 2.8 percent, the automatic raise that lawmakers receive is only half as large as the 2009 cost of living adjustment of Social Security recipients.

Still, Steve Ellis, vice president of the budget watchdog Taxpayers for Common Sense, said Congress should have taken the rare step of freezing its pay, as lawmakers did in 2000.

“Look at the way the economy is and how most people aren’t counting on a holiday bonus or a pay raise — they’re just happy to have gainful employment,” said Ellis. “But you have the lawmakers who are set up and ready to get their next installment of a pay raise and go happily along their way.”

Member raises are often characterized as examples of wasteful spending, especially when many constituents and businesses in members’ districts are in financial despair.

Rep. Harry Mitchell, a first-term Democrat from Arizona, sponsored legislation earlier this year that would have prevented the automatic pay adjustments from kicking in for members next year. But the bill, which attracted 34 cosponsors, failed to make it out of committee.

“They don’t even go through the front door. They have it set up so that it’s wired so that you actually have to undo the pay raise rather than vote for a pay raise,” Ellis said.

Freezing congressional salaries is hardly a new idea on Capitol Hill. Read More—>
