Marinelli vows to override veto-Michele Iannello

Friday, July 31st, 2009

What a team these two make. I swear they can lie like a congress critter. Straight faced and they can be convincing to the uneducated in politics. The People in Erie County wanted the legislature downsized to 9. The committee that Marinelli put together came back with 11. It was these bozos that have been elected that refuse to do the right thing, yet they still say they are and have been putting in reforms.

I have no problem with 4 year terms, I voted for it here on the island. What I do have a problem with is putting these 2 pieces of legislation together in November. The legislature not only should be eliminated, we should be voting on what kind of government we want at the county level. I still like the county manager and board of supervisors that worked well in the past.

State mandates that are currently being enforced and need employees should be state run, not county run. State funds should be paying for all this crap, not our county tax dollars.

It’s time for action against this legislature. If we reelect all these bozos again we simply deserve what we get. A legislature that will continue to work against us, work for the public teet sucking unions and screwing the people.

When are we going to wake up?

$5 million grant to help Erie County adopt ‘no kill’ policy for animals

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Politicians throw millions around like it was just mere thousands. 5 million? While we are living in this disasterous economic climate in the country and New York, Paterson comes here to throw millions around. All the while he is saying we have to cut, raise revenues and fix the system. Does anyone else see what is wrong here……

Health Care Plan? READ THE BILL

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

The government runs medicaid and medicare and both are a disaster, filled with corruption and incompetence. If they are that bad, what the hell will this new health care plan be like? Do we really expect things to be different? READ THE BILL.

Calling for pension system reform

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Here it is, finally we are seeing at least a report at what is going on and worse is coming. New York Pension system is the next tsunami that will jump on the backs of taxpayers and rip more money out of our pockets. Right now we pay 7% of the over all payroll intro the NY Pension system to cover the costs of them, due to the massive losses that figure will jump to 15% next year.

Once again people in the private sector are losing money due to the economic downturn and no one is making that up. Public pensions are a complete different story, they cannot lose a dime. We have to make up for their losses.

The Bill in Albany will go no where because of #1 Sheldon Silver and of course reason #2? The unions OWN our politicians. Just look at the campaign contributions.

County glad to drop to No. 2 in sales tax

Monday, July 27th, 2009

It took NY City to over take us to become second not the Erie County Legislature lowering our sales tax. But I can imagine that this will just take pressure off the legislators to lower our sales tax. So we lead the way in Upstate in sales tax and a dysfunctional lehislature that just love unions and spending our money.

The Empire State’s Looming Public Pension Explosion

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

At the latest figures we are looking at a huge tax increase as these pension costs do not slow down but escalate. Currently counties pay 7% of the overall payroll to the pension system, next year we are looking at paying 15%. Silver and the Albany cronies REFUSE to do anything to slow this down or even add another tier. This will kill many businesses and more people will flee this state.

Local pension costs may triple in New York State, meaning costs will outrun revenues, even when the recession ends.

Prevailing wage debate flares in County Hall

Friday, July 24th, 2009

This is infuriating. Are unionized construction workers the only ones allowed to work? Why the hell should we pay the highest price per square foot and ignore the bidding process from ALL construction companies? Don’t give me the BS line of the unions are best qualified and trained. I have been in the construction industry for 30 years and this is pure bullshit.

The only things unions do better than the non union contractors is protest, picket, burn tires, smash windshields, intimidate workers and all this as they are getting paid. We have bailed out union companies as they have fallen behind in their time schedule and run far over the bid price and way over budget. I am sick of this crap.
