Governor Paterson and DiNapoli Clash on Pension-Fund Rescue

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

No matter which way they go, no matter which way they look at it, we on the local level are screwed. Who is going to pay this increase? The retirees? NO. It will lay clearly on the back of us, the Taxpaying individuals that have to bust our ass just to keep our heads above water, have lost our own retirement (I don’t have any) in the market. We suffer all the way around, but not the retired in the New York Pension plan.

The loss will require local governments to increase their contributions, from 7.4 percent of their payrolls projected for next year to an estimated 11 percent by early 2011, the comptroller’s office said

By making the local governments pay more they have to get it from someplace. Where, oh where will they find this money? Our pockets are stretched to the limits if not empty already from all the excessive taxes, fees and any other way they can pull the cash out of our pockets. Is there any wonder so many people have left and are planning on leaving this state? Some have told me this will be the straw that breaks the camels back, some say this will put us on the verge of a revolution. If this will finally wake people upo than great, I have been awake for years and have been crying from the wilderness, are the sleeping finally going to wake up? God I hope so.

Ya just can't make this crap up BOTTLE DEPOSIT DEBACLE

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Ya just can’t make this crap up.

What the hell is going on at that office? Just run by a bunch of dimwitted idiots? And we are paying for all this incompetence? Oh, wait, maybe it was Antoinne and he just wanted to disguise himself so the caller wouldn’t rip into him for such asinine Bills, ya the ones that cost upstate jobs and simply make more money for the state while we sacrifice more and more.

Government double-dippers collect pensions while on the job

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

If this doesn’t piss you off then you are either one of these bloodsucking politicians or planning on doing the same thing one day in the future. I have to go back to what I used to say and that is, we have to change the mindset of these people that say they do all this to serve the people, public service is what I love and truly enjoy doing…… What a crock, they do this so they can suck off us and pull money out of our pockets any way they can and will do so after their years of “Public Service” is over and done with.

State law generally allows people elected to office to double dip— collecting a full state pension from a previous government job as well as a paycheck from a local government one.

Well that’s a Law that never should have been created and definitely needs to be thrown out the window with these double dipping “Public Servants”.
Just read the quotes from some of them…

Giambrone doesn’t see anything wrong with collecting a pension from an elected position he still holds.

“I was thinking of retiring and someone told me ‘No, Joe. Call Albany,’ ” he said. “I called up Albany and someone told me I could collect my pension and still get my same paycheck. What can I tell you? I’m not a lazy person. I enjoy working. I think it’s fine.”

Sick, just sick…….

New York pension loses $44B in a year

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Here we go again, I have been warning that this was coming for months! $44 Billion WE have to make up, WE not them, WE have to pay back the money that THEY have lost. WE have to pay higher taxes so that THEY can retire and move the hell out of here. When are WE going to wake up and demand that retirees simply pay taxes on their pensions? When are WE going to hold people like Sheldon Silver and all the other bozos in Albany accountable and demand they fix this system that continues to drive us into bankruptcy while the retirees from csea, seiu and all the other unions that have bought and paid for all the politicians in Albany? WHEN?

They are driving the screw into us and we sit back and allow them to do it all for what? PARTY UNITY? Both Parties are allowing this, both parties are screwing us, both parties need to be taken back over by US, WE THE PEOPLE OF NEW YORK! Not the corrupt politicians that graduated from Tammany Hall and are controlled by the like of Boss Tweed.

Do I sound pissed? YES, I am and you should be too, if not then you are the problem too.

Push is on for full cleanup of NY nuclear site

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

West Valley is only one of the waste sites that are in severe need of cleanup. The Tonawanda landfill is another. The landfill borders on Hackett Drive in the City of Tonawanda. 22 homes back up to the property and there are high cases of different kinds of cancer. Although Iannello, Rick Davis, A. Thompson, Louise Slaughter have all said they have dedicated themselves to push for a complete cleanup and even walked door to door getting signatures for a petition to do it, none of them have gone any further after their election two years ago.

All they have done is use this as another reason to vote for them yet they continue to fail the people in this area. I have written extensively on this and know how to find out who is wrong the DEC or the Corp of Engineers yet NO ONE will secure funding to perform the tests needed. Once again they have failed us, the crap just continues.

Stachowski and A. Thompsons Internet tax takes effect Monday

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Stachowski and A. Thompsons Internet tax takes effect Monday
A controversial new tax on online sales that was included in Bill Stachowski and A. Thompsons bloated state budget takes effect Monday, making NY among the first states to apply broad taxes to the Internet and worrying critics that Albany Democrats are opening the door to a slew of new and more creative levies.

In addition to the online tax, new levies take effect on auto insurance policies, car rentals and the highest-in-the-nation income tax on high earners.

Since April 1, Stachowski and A. Thompson have voted for more than $10 billion in new taxes–and $12 billion in spending.

Among the increases taking effect Monday:

Driving New Yorkers out? Time to get them back!

Friday, May 29th, 2009

Our battle is and was in the Senate, with the representation in the Assembly overwhelmingly from south of Albany our western NY and Upstate representatives don’t stand a chance even if all of them R’s and D’s voted against Sheldon Silver downstate would still out vote us. So we had the chance to stop this hideous budget in the senate, all we needed was just one of our Western NY Senators to vote against it. Bill Stachowski and Antoinne Thompson chose to stick the screws into us and voted with downstate. When the hell are people around here going to realize this? Both of them should resign in disgrace.

Sheldon Silver, the most almighty politician in the state, the biggest obstructionist to any kind of reform, cuts, restructuring etc, yet the assembly members vote for him and with him all the time. Why? What kind of power does this despot have over them? He is elected by the liberals in Manhatten, I didn’t vote for him, did you? Then why and how the hell does he control every aspect of our financial lives? Now it is even more, he alone in the Assembly, Stachowski and Thompson in the Senate are driving people out of this state in a rate that far exceeds any year in the past.

Paterson….is useless and dangerous. He comes out touting reforms, tax caps, cuts and legislation that is supposed to help New Yorkers. He panders to crowds and tells them exactly what they want to hear. Is he genuine? Does he really want to do this stuff? Who the hell knows he has yet to accomplish any of it, instead we get as budget that continues to grow government, raises taxes and fees 31%, spending increases surpassing 11%, WHY? Because he bows down and kisses the ring of Sheldon Silver and the inept Senate that does not have a clue as to what they want.

But what we get is ever increasing patronage jobs across the state, senators that drive around with an entourage of people like they are royalty and demand respect. Respect is earned and these bozos deserve none. We are paying for all this, just who are these power hungry, greedy individuals that demand of us what they themselves will not give of their own freewill?

At this rate we are doomed to failure unless we can get back control of our government, demand resignations and be relentless until we get what WE demand, not them. The time has come to join forces with every single reform minded groups and storm Albany. We demand our state back from these tyrannts! Join us at TeaNewYork.com and MarchonAlbany.com.

This is the next big event in the NY Tea Party Movement!

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

We have made contact with this group and we are trying to get as many people from Western New York there as possible. We all have been talking about marching on Albany, well here is our chance. Allen Coniglio and me are trying to coordinate things from this end of the state. We are looking into chartering a bus to go. It is being held on a Tuesday which is tough for us working stiffs but that is when the Albany Legislature is in session. All of our representatives will be in the Capital building so they will know we are there.

Stay tuned for updates, sign in or email me at RusThompson@roadrunner.com if you want to join in on a bus ride I will getthe info for it soon. There will have to be a charge because I am not a wealthy guy and cannot fund this on my own. I will take the day off from work and be there, I hope to be able to say a few words at this event.

190-Grand Island Bridge Toll removal Bill

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

This Bill was written by Senator George Maziarz and myself at the end of 2007, it was introduced in the Senate in 2008. Went through all the committees and then failed to make it to the floor at two different times. Why? We are not sure but we deducted that Bruno and Silver stopped it from coming to a vote, they knew it would pass and even though all our politicians claim they want to eliminate the “Authorities” none of them even move at the chance to start downsizing the Thruway Authority.

Last night Wednesday May 27th Senator Antoinne Thompson had a meeting with LaSalle Pride in Niagara Falls. I was bound and determined to pin him down and get him to reintroduce this Bill into the Senate this year. This has already been done in the Assembly and you can see the names on it as cosponsors and the Bill sponsor Sam Hoyt. Why not the Senate? Thompson is the Senator from this district and as a Democrat he is the one with the power now to not only introduce it but, to get it to the floor and get it passed. He told me, “When the Democrats take over the Senate, the tolls will come down”. I have been patiently waiting but as the year has crept by my patience has gotten very thin especially after I got the Governor to agree to sign the Bill into Law at the March 4th town hall meeting in Niagara Falls.

Action Alert: You are needed this Wednesday evening

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Senator Antoine Thompson, the #2 priority on our list of targets, wants to hear from you. It would be far better that he resign, and stop the dog & pony shows where he pretends that our voices matter, and our concerns are of concern to him.

You might remember that Antoine said that he supports getting rid of Grand Island bridge tolls (which would represent a $30 million + influx, or retention of revenue to Western New York per year) — but has been silent and comatose on the issue since he made that statement. In fact, he has refused to re-submit the toll bill that the governor said he would sign into law. ???

You might remember that among his campaign promises was an assurance that he did not support gay marriage — then went on to co-sponsor legislation to legislate gay marriage.

But most importantly, we should never forget that Senators Thompson and Stachowski’s yes vote on the 2009 budget succeeded in spending another $12 Billion of taxpayer money, to feed the ever-growing, highly inefficient and unaccountable NYS government — in addition to sending a $500 million WNY NYPA surplus downstate.

If you can, please show up and let Antoine know how you feel, and what NYS can do to help this area — namely, stop bleeding WNY and hard-working New Yorkers dry, and start representing us, so that we stop the endless cycle of taxation without representation.
