OMG what a bunch of over reaching legislation. micro stamping, re licensing after 5 years, blah, blah, blah….. All are surely to be cash cows for the state and once again reaching as far as we will let them infringe on our Right to keep and bear arm. This will drive up costs across the board and that don’t care.

State Assembly on line to pass a number of gun control bills — next stop is state Senate – Outdoors Blog on syracuse.com
Thursday, April 30th, 2009Cyberspace lets cowards have free rein
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009
I am happy that the guy got caught. I am happy not just for Rus Thompson, the activist who for nearly two years endured e-mail insults, taunting and threats from a coward hiding behind the cloak of anonymity. I will be happy if the story of accused e-mailer David Zelonis’ arrest prompts any civility-assaulting blogger or e-mailer to think twice about anonymously spewing personal attacks across cyberspace.
$25 BILLION BUDGET GAP SHOCK
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009$25 Billion? This really comes as no shock to anyone that has been watching what they have been doing in Albany. While every politico says they did everything they could to balance the budget, cut costs and get spending under control. In truth they have made things worse with their excessive spending and continued out of control rate of spending and growth of everything. Raising taxes, fees and any other way they can to get revenue does not fix the problem. A one time influx of cash just buries the problem for now just to rear it’s ugly head later.
This current Albany government, it’s corrupted politicians just continue to destroy this state economically.

Ex-Amherst Susan Grelick supervisor gets job in State Senate
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009Another failed candidate lands job with Senate Democrats
Albany’s Senate Democrats have hired another failed candidate for a well-paid political job.
Ex-Amherst supervisor Susan Grelick, ousted by voters in 2005 and reportedly eyeing a run against a GOP lawmaker, will be paid $90,000 for part-time work at the Capitol.
That’s more than the $70,000 salary already set for”Baby Joe” Mesi, who lost an election bid last year, but was rewarded with a post in the Albany Democrats’ new $1 million Buffalo branch office, one of six the Democrats plan to create in Upstate cities.

Startled New Yorkers Run Through Streets as Obama Plane Photo Op Goes Awry
Monday, April 27th, 2009I have seen some stupid things since 9-11 but nothing as stupid and dangerous as this. Did he just completely forget? Or has he simply blown off the attacks on NY City and the twin towers on 9-11. And he is now apologizing? It never should have happened to begin with, even if announced a day before how many people would have thought, Oh gee, that’s just the president off on another joy ride burning up the ozone with all the pollutants coming from the exhaust of Air Force One.
Stupid is as stupid does.

Politics plus pensions equals big bucks
Monday, April 27th, 2009Politicians are special my ass….. they are professional thieves and it does not matter from which party they come. Look at the current salaries and then the pensions they currently receive, it’s enough to make you either sick or enraged. Problem is they create the laws they have to abide by, they create the dispensations that they can then follow, biggest problem is we allow them to continue to get away with it.
The pension system in this state is about to implode, so far it has lost over 25% in this economic mess and who do you think will have to make up the losses? We will as we always do. They won’t be affected at all, none of the state, county or local level politicos or workers will suffer especially the ones that have moved to Florida. So will will have to suck it up, ke[ad]ep our mouths shut and pay. Are you fed up yet?

Saturday, April 25th, 2009Top link now on Drudge- from article:
via OBAMA GREETED IN MEXICO BY MAN WHO DIED DAYS LATER OF FLU SYMPTOMS….
The first case was seen in Mexico on April 13. The outbreak coincided with the President Barack Obama’s trip to Mexico City on April 16. Obama was received at Mexico’s anthropology museum in Mexico City by Felipe Solis, a distinguished archeologist who died the following day from symptoms similar to flu, Reforma newspaper reported. T
New offices, new hiring unjustified, but Senate Democrats do it anyway
Saturday, April 25th, 2009Surprise, surprise, another layer of do nothing political hacks. Mesi the political neophyte and his band of political patronage invade Erie County. Just what we need, more patronage, waste and another layer of government. Good Lord they just don’t get it. Do you? Are you fed up with this BS? This will cost us a half million a year plus benefits and pensions. Yup, this is the plan for change to fix the dysfunctional Albany legislature, yet another layer.

Thruway looks into claims of threats by toll collector
Thursday, April 23rd, 2009I ha no idea this article was coming. Looks like Donna Luh is awake, well maybe a little bit. I will say this, my EZ Pass was never revoked. We were accused of speeding through an ez pass lane. If you go 6 MPH vs 5 MPH you are speeding. We disputed it and wanted to appeal and have them show us proof that it happened. Their appeal is to appeal to the very same people that issued you the charge. I wanted to see a judge, I wanted to be in a courtroom. No such thing exists with the ez pass system. They refuse your appeal and all this is done over the mail.
We refused to pay their fine and voluntarily turned in the ex passes we all have and paid to come and go. So the charge that we were revoked is false. The main point here is how did Zelonis even know anything about our ez passes. EZ Pass is one authority within another bigger authority. They are a separate entity that polices it self. It is a collection agency is all, but we have to bow down to them. They have their own system and in order for Zelonis to even know anything about our ez passes, he would have had to do some digging and find someone within their system to help him out.
So their was collusion here, but who is this other individual that helped him? That is a question that needs to be answered and that person also charged.

IDA bill would drive up costs, discourage investment
Thursday, April 23rd, 2009Collins is exactly right. Here we are starving for businesses and jobs to come here or expand. All this will do is keep them away. Prevailing wage can be double what a normal wage is. A few years ago a friend asked me if I wanted a weeks worth of work that paid prevailing wage, I took it. I was spreading top soil and seeding for $38.00 an hour, 38 bucks an hour to do laborers work. A business just cannot survive paying that kind of rate.
