Erie County Tea Party

The idea of a Tea Party is growing with little effort at this point. So now is the time to give some effort and get this revolt going. We have 3 weeks to get it going here and hopefully in areas around the state.

The date? March 28th 2 PM at the Terminus of the Erie Canal.

Who's in? What can you do to get this moving?

Contact everyone you know, any reform minded groups, blogs, forums and find some sponsors and reform minded politicians.

What say you? Interested? It is time to get off your apathy, get away from the keyboard and get active.

This tea party event focuses on State and County issues, our representation or better yet, lack of representation and their inability to listen and act in our best interest.

I could make my own list of grievances but do not want to always be the one out in front of these things.

So, where is it? look at this picture it’s a perfect spot for the Tea Party.

How to get there? Here is a google map. We will be where the B is on the map.

  1. Mike says:

If the Boston Tea Party was about taxation without representation, what is this about?

It seems to me this is about taxation WITH representation, but you all disagree with the representation a majority of the voters duly elected so you’re going to get together and bitch about it…

  2. MIke in WNY says:

Hey Mike, if the majority votes that you have to jump off a bridge, would you do it? Too bad, your survival chances are greater jumping off the bridge.

  3. Rus Thompson says:

Mike, you call this representation? First of all our legislators have no say in Albany, they are told how to vote on the majority of the bills crossing their desks mere hours before a vote is taken. Otherwise they feel the wrath of the leadership IE: Silver and Smith.

How funny, the majority of the voters, you should say the party that their district is gerrymandered in to supporting for reelection for a lifetime. That goes for both parties.

You like taxes? You pay them, the rest of us will complain and protest. Maybe, just maybe we will have an effect and even save you money. If you don’t want to sae money then feel free to pay your neighbors taxes for them.

  4. Mike says:

WAAAAAAAA…I don’t like taxes! Who does?!?!

Its called being a responsible, productive citizen of this country, pay your share and shut up!

  5. Rus Thompson says:

Hi Joe, you must be Joe Biden. It’s patriotic to pay your taxes……..

It’s one thing to pay your taxes, it’s another thing altogether to pay simply to watch your tax dollars being wasted, abused and spent haphazardly.

When we live in a state that has the highest tax burden in the country, and instead of our supposed elected representatives spending our money wisely, they spend beyond recklessly.

New York state continues to spend money we do not have just as 0bama and Congress is doing.

Why the hell am I explaining anything to you.

    Shut up and pay.

There needs to be more information concerning this event. Everyone doesn’t know where or what is the Terminus. People in Rochester, who we have told about this event, have never heard of this place.

Please post a link to Mapquest or such.

  17. Leon Karlak says:

I think it is critical that we educate everyone on the difference between net taxpayers and net tax consumers,…and the fact that net tax consumers do not pay a dime in taxes.
Why is this relevant? Who should decide how the taxes are spent? Only those that pay. People that do not pay have a conflict of interest. Do I have a right to decide how much you are going to pay me if I am picking your pocket? No!
Net tax consumers should not get the opportunity to vote.

  18. RachelWells says:

We will be there! This is just the beginning is right – a nation wide effort to retake our nation.

As far as whining, that is a tedious comment. It is not about paying our taxes, it’s about being robbed of our future and our birthright. The Congress has the powers we give it, not the powers they have stolen; it’s time to remind them of who and what those powers are derived.

    TEA ready..Let’s get this done!

  19. OSayCanYouSee says:

My wife and I expect to be there unless we’re arrested for being “Constitutional

  20. Hannah Elise says:

So, is this still on? Is there more information on it somewhere?

  21. Rus Thompson says:

I will be doing an updated post on this tea party. The response has been very good and it looks like a good turnout!

  22. Patrick Henry says:

I’ll be there. Will the marxists and useful idiots be around also? I’d like to bring my 11 y.o. son so he can see up close the type of sponges that are pissing his country away.

  23. RachelWells says:

So, who is all coming! Can we get our congress folks on board..i am going to contact Chris Lee and see if he will show..we have to get ourselves organized..

  24. Rus Thompson says:

We have invited every elected representative in WNY, only one has said he would be there and that is Senator Maziarz.

Every other one has responded that they have a prior commitment, such a typical line and response.

  25. Bryan from Lancaster says:

I’ll be there! And thanks for doing this!

  26. Say It Ain't So Johnny says:

There should be little doubt that we live in a country where perception is reality, where expressive style trumps meaning, where delivery means more than fact and where looks mean more than substance. Otherwise

    - Entertainers would not be paid what they are paid
    - So much money would not be spent on advertising
    - The quote “a sucker is born every minute” would have no meaning
    - There would be no need for lawyers or salesman or at least half of congress

When i was young the term Silent Majority
was being used. I think it may be on a comeback – for when busy people
finally take the time to stop being productive to insist that others are and
when everyday hard working people stand up for their rights in the middle of
their busy day – well that smacks of the voice of the silent majority and I
see the signs again – thank God

  27. Dawn Kessler says:

    I’ll be there!

  28. dennis says:

Rus, this is a good Idea but you need something postive to come out in result of this tea party. someone tried to change Erie county
and couple of years ago and look what happen.

  29. Eleni says:

I can’t wait to see you all there!!

  32. Don't Tread on Me says:

Rus, great going, I will attend and will bring my 13 year old as well. What a great lesson in civics. May I suggest that you also mobilize the following of Patriots to consider attending the nationally sponsored Tea Party Day on April the 15th in front of Buffalo City Hall. it really is time for the people to take back control of government, and this is just the beginning!!!

  33. Rus Thompson says:

We are and will be at the event.
The Fed tea party is April 18th.

  34. RachelWells says:

Okay, the weather looks good anyway! A bit chilly but hey we are used to that. Got a gang coming from around the country it seems..some from PA some from CT. Twitter this my friends!! I posted it on the 912 Project (Glenn Becks website) and have also been promoting it on my radio show on BTR (with my cohost Sir Malachi) – it’s time to make this huge. We want to stand tall, one voice in this New American Revolution!

Anyone contact Tom Bauerle ? WBEN? The news orgs?

  35. Say It Ain't So Johnny says:

The age of Obama – the era of cleaver phraseology – it fools some of the people and makes certain people drool and it tics the rest of us off. The intellectuals did not like George Bush – I hope they are happy now. This stuff is already starting to make me sick.

  36. Mine is Mine, Yours is Mine says:

See you there! Why don’t we just become our own State? I think you only need 250,000 people to do so. And isn’t it sad that we have the 2nd highest cost of energy in the country and yet we live 10 miles from Niagara Falls. And are sales tax rate is absurd, not to mention that people down state pay less in property tax (almost half) for similar homes. And I could go on and on and on. And here’s a question I’ve been pondering for a while…”The government requires public companies to file quarterly and annual reports (to see where the money goes) does the state and local gov’t do that? or do we just get the “BUDGET” to see how they want to spend every last penny? Thanks for letting me rant, haha.

It is the poor who habitually elect Democrats—yet they are

    POOR

“You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot
strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about
prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up
by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of
man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by
taking away people’s initiative and independence. You cannot help
people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for
    themselves.”
