New York governor: You know who I should appoint to the Senate? Michelle

Sure he can joke all he wants but we are are the butt of his jokes and his appointment. The unoffical word is Princess Caroline will be our next senator from New York. With Governor Paterson afraid to upset or let down the new President Obama and hurt the Kennedy clan, he will appoint Caroline. With her uncle Ted, the Liberal bohemith from Massachusetts, (my home state) suffering from brain cancer, he cannot retire or possibly die without a Kennedy in the Senate. After all, how many decades have we seen them in the Senate, from John, Bobby and Ted. We wi9ll surely see another.

It will be a sad day for us in New York if he appoints her. We would be better served with the likes of Brian Higgins, at least he is from WNY and comes home to his district. Problem is who takes over for him, I hear Schroeder and Tim Kennedy to take over for Schroeder in the assembly. That leaves us with a vacant seat in the Erie County Legislature. It won’t hurt my feelings to see this Kennedy leave, he is a obstruction to reform here locally as are most of the legislators in New York.

Hey — she’s more qualified than Princess. He’s joking, of course, but acclimate yourself to the idea now: She’ll be only 52 in 2016, slightly younger than the last Democratic First Lady was when she joined the Senate. And wouldn’t you know it, 2016 also happens to be the year Roland Burris’s seat comes up for election. Assuming he runs and wins two years from now, he’ll be 79 and primed for retirement just as The One’s second term is expiring. I wonder whom Illinois could recruit to replace him in the seat once held by another Obama. How about … the woman married to the new George Washington?

And then, in 2020, Michelle vs. Palin!
