Begging, how pathetic that Paterson has to stoop so low to have to beg. He does this because the Democrats in the Assembly and the Senate refuse to get spending under control. Sure blame this on the Wall Street fat cats but we have been facing the fiscal abyss for years, this just happened to put us over the edge.
Before Wall Street took the plunge we were looking at 25 Billion plus in the hole. Why? Because Albany refuses to number one, control spending and the excessive pork lade budgets. Two, they do it because they can, they are unaccountable for anything they do. They cannot be defeated in the term limits every two years, the gerrymandered districts that unless you have assaulted and molested a child you will be in for life, and Sheldon Silver will work over time to even keep that a secret if he can. As long as you vote the way the King tells you to you are there until you retire of die, how pathetic this state is.
Third, we are majority Democrat by over 3 million voters, both our Senators are Democrat and Congress is being run by Democrats, so what’s the problem, can’t blame this on Bush and the Republicans. Where is Chuckie? Where is Hillary? To busy lining their own pockets and forcing the economy in the tank so we can slide into a socialist country, that’s where.
Before anyone goes begging they need to get their own house in order. Paterson needs to bring the legislature out back and kick their a$$es and once all these efforts have been exhausted then ask for help. When the Albany legislators cannot and will not do the job that needs to be done they need to go, but how….
We have the highest taxes around and the worst business climate in the country. Try reversing the course and step away from all these failed policies that have dominated this state for decades. Sometime I wish the feds would come in and lock up most of these incompetant boobs that claim to be working for us, what a joke.

It started with Gov. David Paterson asking the feds to help bail New York and other states out of the fiscal crisis, but it was a confrontation with a fellow governor that grabbed most of the attention.
Paterson, a Democrat, and Republican Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina duked it out Wednesday at a congressional hearing on whether the feds should help states deal with their crushing fiscal woes with a new economic stimulus package.
“I’m not here to beg, I’m here to say that New York doesn’t need a handout. We need a hand-back,” Paterson told Congress.
But Paterson’s argument that the federal government “owes” New York help because last year it sent Washington nearly $87 billion more than it got back didn’t wash with Sanford.
“I am here to respectfully beg of this committee not to approve a $150 billion stimulus package,” he retorted.
“We need the same resources that we have distributed to our national economy to bail that economy out many times to help other states get back far more than they pay in taxes,” said Paterson.
“Many people complain about the fiscal irresponsibility of the federal government, in fact the only group that has been more fiscally irresponsible in fact has been the states,” Sanford said in his argument.
Paterson and Sanford offered heady arguments featuring quotes from noted economists and the novelist Ayn Rand. But another local witness went lowbrow to make his case.
