Skelos says Paterson acting like Spitzer

Paterson is frustrated with the inaction and inability of Albany legislators not doing what needs to be done to straighten out the budget process, thing that he is apparently forgetting is the only ones trying to help are the Republicans. It is the Assembly Democrats and Senate Democrats that are not jumping on board to do the right thing.

This is what confuses me about Paterson, he wants things do get done, he wants cuts in this years budget, he wants a property tax cap, he wants to stop the excessive spending, he wants this, he wants that. Who is supporting him? The Republicans, who refuses to join in? The Democrats. This isn’t a partisan attack, this is the truth about the dysfunction in Albany.

So why doesn’t Paterson lash out at the Democrats? Why is it that he now is fundraising for the Democrats to help take over the Senate? Just because he is a Democrat? Does he really think the Democrats will change their mindset over night? We don’t need Spitzer fits in Albany, what we need is a cooperative Democrat controlled Assembly to pass the Bills the Governor and the Republican controlled Senate passed.

So if you want to show your frustrations Governor, aim it at Sheldon Silver and his merry group of Democrats puppets. The Republicans are already on board.

Skelos says Paterson acting like Spitzer

ALBANY, N.Y. — Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos is likening Governor Paterson to his predecessor. Appearing on Capital Tonight Skelos said Paterson is starting to act like Eliot Spitzer by barking orders at lawmakers during budget negotiations. It’s something the Senate Majority Leader said needs to stop.

“I don’t need the governor pounding his fist on the table, grand standing and lecturing, that is what Eliot Spitzer used to do and we got nowhere. I hope he is not moving toward that type of governing process. What we need is how we worked to together in August,” said Skelos.

The governor has called back the Legislature for a special session on November 18th.

Along with budget cuts Paterson has asked lawmakers to pass a property tax cap.
