I could have told you that and all I do is listen to the people everyday. Problem is the legislators have not cleaned out their ears or taken the union cash out of them. They have blinders on and can’t seem to see anything out side the capitol building. Then when they go to their districts they hang out with like minded people.
Poll: NY voters want property tax relief — Newsday.com
ALBANY, N.Y. - A new poll shows action to lower or cap property taxes _ an issue bottled up in New York’s Legislature _ is the top concern for many voters expected to cast ballots in the Nov. 4 legislative elections.
The Siena College poll found voters in three of four districts polled, and in three of five districts polled two weeks ago, say property taxes should be their legislator’s top priority in Albany.
The Republican-led Senate has endorsed Democratic Gov. David Paterson’s call for a cap on the growth of local property taxes. The Democrat-led Assembly prefers a “circuit breaker” that would ease taxes for lower and moderate income homeowners.
The result is that nothing is likely to happen. The New York State United Teachers union has lobbied hard to block the tax cap.
