When a Charter School failed a few months ago, Phil Rumor said in a public statement, If I were a parent of one of those students, I would take them to court and sue them. Well Phil…… The Buffalo Schools system is your baby right? So maybe there should be a class action lawsuit against your schools! They have failed, continue to fail yet we now pay over 25 thousand per student, per year.
What a disgrace.

Graduation Rates Increase Statewide, Decline in Buffalo
ALBANY, NY (2008-08-11) A new report released by the state Education Department Monday says high school graduation rates continue to improve in New York.
Statewide, nearly 69 percent of students who started high school in 2003 graduated in June 2007, up slightly from previous years. But the numbers were lower in the state’s “Big Four” cities, including Buffalo. The report shows 46 percent of Buffalo students who entered high school in 2003 graduated in four years.
The Williamsville Central School District had the region’s highest graduation rate at 94 percent.
State Education Commissioner Richard Mills says Hispanic and black students are graduating at higher rates than they were two years ago — but still at considerably lower rates than whites. The report also found that graduation rates for students with disabilities and students who are learning English have dropped.
“The many examples of improvement don’t yet outweigh the remaining challenges, but there are enough of them to demonstrate that thousands more children have graduated than just a few years ago and more will graduate in the years immediately ahead,” Mills said. “We have to keep our focus and urgency and help the students who still are not succeeding.”
The State Education Department’s website has specific information on how your school district performed.
