Thank you Jeff for your work on the T-way board and for being a strong advocate for the people of WNY, you presence on the board will be missed, I fear we will not have a voice when you are replaced.
The most startling sentence in your response appears to me to be the illegal way the State of New York borrows money. I did not know that state borrowing had to be approved by referendum.That statement alone should open up the door for a Lawsuit.

Are we ready to file a Lawsuit against Albany? I think the time just may be right to do just that. Maybe someone can get these messages to Governor Paterson, I have tried with no success.

I have been watching and actively working on a few scenarios in my last days as a board member at the T-way. It is in my opinion that nothing is going to get done this year. The GI bill will pass the senate — probably on the last night of session leaving not much time for the Assembly to act. The truth of the matter is — the state no matter how many bills get introduced and how many state officials yell and scream about the authorities — they continue to use the dormitory authority and the thruway authority as their personal piggy banks and continue to do their back door borrowing through both agencies. Until this stops nothing is going to happen– because — the more solvent the authorities are — the better their bond ratings are — and the lower the cost of borrowing the state will receive translating into more money for our state to use and waste.
Why doesn’t the state borrow itself? Because they can’t — unless they put the amount they want to borrow on the ballot in November for all of us to vote on…To effect real change we all must work on shutting down Albany’s money pipeline. Stop the easy money — fix the government.
When you look at any issue you must find the root cause. Everything else is just a band aid or a great headline. Don’t get discouraged keep fighting and things will change.
