I have known Frank for a few years and always had good conversations with him. I had some real issues with the way he handled some cases and especially not going after political corruption. But, as an individual and a person, I like Frank. I wish him the best as he fights his battle with Lupus, I had no idea he had it until today.
Two weeks ago though I seconded the motion to endorse Ken Case at our Primary Challenge meeting. I had a great conversation with Ken and he answered the questions I had for him and how he answered them is what I needed to hear. My best to Frank and the best of luck to Ken Case as this race now opens up to a broader field of candidates.
WBEN 930 : DA Clark Not Running For Re-election
Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - “It’s a very, very sad day for me.” Those words from Erie County District Attorney Frank Clark who confirms he will not run for re-election. First elected in 1996, Clark will leave public office when his third term is over at the end of the year.
Clark says his decision is based on his health. He has Lupus and Clark had a flare up over the weekend. While not serious, stress he says triggers his condition and could lead to more serious problems. His doctors have told Clark a re-election campaign and the rigors of the job are too much. Clark has spent the lst 27 years in the D-A’s office and says he considers the lawyers and staff his family.
The outspoken and feisty District Attorney had been endorsed by the Democratic Party, but faced a primary challenge from Kenneth Case, a former assistant D-A in his office. The Republican party is in the screening process, but so far, has not endorsed a candidate.
