I don’t blame them in the least bit… When the government fails the people, which they do all the time around these parts, it’s time to shake off the reigns of oppression and move on. Maybe the Town of Niagara will care more for the plight of these neighborhoods. When is the last time you drove on Buffalo Ave? I did Saturday, it is full of pot holes or craters really, the roads are like country dirt roads full of ruts and holes.
Stand up and be counted… Good for them.
LaSalle Wants Out of Niagara Falls
Some residents in the LaSalle area of Niagara Falls would like to become part of the Town of Niagara. Supporters say it’s a win-win situation for each municipality.
Dana Tweed is the backbone of the grassroots movement. She brought her idea to the Town of Niagara board meeting Monday night and says the town supervisor and the town attorney both showed support for the idea.
Tweed is a lifelong resident of Lasalle and says the closing of LaSalle High School and the lack of road maintenance in the neighborhood have not only caused people to leave the area but have also kept it from getting any better.
Phone calls from 2 On Your Side to the Mayor Niagara Falls and the Town of Niagara Supervisor were not returned.
