Two huge issues and she doesn’t know where she stands on them? Who is she being appointed to replace? Jeff Williams has been a huge ally for all of us, he is the only one to vote NO on toll increase, the only one that supports the removal of the Thruway Authority from control of the 190 and has been very vocal about state government using the TA as a borrowing agency for them.
I smell something rotten here and I will follow this like a hawk. This doesn’t sound or look good for us.
There is some great comments posted in the forum too.
WGRZ News - Governor Nominates Depew Woman for Thruway Authority Board
Governor David Paterson (D-NY) has nominated Donnah Luh to fill a vacant seat on the State Thruway Authority Board. If approved, she would be one of two Western New Yorkers serving.
Jeffrey Williams of Lewiston is currently the only representation from this area.
“I was so proud to receive the governor’s nomination and I look forward to the confirmation process,” Luh said from her Depew home Saturday.
The mother of two grown sons currently runs a consulting company that focuses on community and governmental relations, but she has more than a decade of experience in the transportation industry.
She has served as manager of the Genesee County Airport, Fare Collection Manager for the NFTA, and Project Coordinator of the $186 million expansion at Buffalo International Airport.
When asked whether she would vote for two proposed rate hikes, five percent each in 2009 and 2010, Luh said she would first have to familiarize herself with all facets of the issue.
She had the same thing to say about removing the Canal Authority and the Grand Island Bridge tolls from the thruway system.
“As of right now, I”m certainly reviewing everything,” Luh said. “I will always work for this area. I will always work for what’s best. I want the best for the state of New York, but I certainly understand the concerns of Western New York.”
Luh must be approved by the New York Senate before her appointment is complete.
