NEW YORK BANS DNA PATERNITY TEST

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

dna-paternity-test.jpg

In New York, state law says DNA testing has to be court-ordered or prescribed by a doctor. Why? Is it to protect the trial lawyers? Welcome to New York where you have no ability to do most things other states allow. Makes no sense to me.

NY BANS DNA PATERNITY TEST

An over-the-counter DNA paternity test now offers unknowing families peace of mind – in every state but New York.

Identigene, a Salt Lake City-based genetics company, released an at-home paternity test this month, giving mothers and their offspring a speedy answer to a difficult question.

Unsure mothers swab the inside of their child’s mouth – and the mouth of the suspected father – then send the swabs to Salt Lake City for testing.

D.A. COVER-UP – RIPPED ON SPITZER-PROBE FLIP

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

spitzerdirtytricks.gif

A top Democrat close to the scandal said, “Either Soares was repeatedly lied to when he prepared the first report, was covering up the scandal when he did, or he is incompetent.”

I think that quote sums it up pretty well. This report should infuriate everyone and is typical of the depth of the corruption in New York politics. One of the reasons I have difficulty with DA’s that are completely in bed with either party. There should be a Federal Investigation into Soares office and how he not only handled this case, but all of them.

D.A. COVER-UP – RIPPED ON SPITZER-PROBE FLIP

March 30, 2008 — ALBANY – Flip-flopping Albany District Attorney David Soares was blasted yesterday for “a second cover-up” because his new report on the Dirty Tricks Scandal left many key questions unanswered.

Soares, whose first report on Sept. 21 falsely found that then-Gov. Eliot Spitzer wasnt part of the plot to use the State Police against Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno, conceded in the second report that not only was Spitzer involved, but that the DA may have sought Spitzers removal from office if the disgraced ex-governor hadnt resigned March 12 in the wake of a high-priced-hooker scandal.

Senior Democrats mull Al Gore's nomination

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

al-gore.jpg

I’m sorry but the Democrats are looking like a pure joke in this election cycle. Al Gore? Now 100 senior Democrats are going to make the decision over the heads of millions of registered Democrats in this country.

God help us and you Democrats should be disgusted with the supposed leadership in your Party.

Senior Democrats mull Al Gore’s nomination

Plans for Al Gore to take the Democratic presidential nomination as the saviour of a bitterly divided party are being actively discussed by senior figures and aides to the former vice-president.

The bloody civil war between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama has left many Democrats convinced that neither can deliver a knockout blow to the other and that both have been so damaged that they risk losing November’s election to the Republican nominee, John McCain.

Schwarzenegger: Blaming Illegal Immigrants for Calif. Budget Gap a "big mistake."

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

mccain_clinton.jpg

The Federation for American Immigration reform is a non-partisan, non-profit foundation that monitors all U.S. immigration. In a 2004 study it found that illegal immigrants cost California $9 billion annually with an estimated $7.7 billion ALONE on education for illegal students. In one report it stated the following: “As tax consumers continue to flood in from Mexico, and taxpayers flee, the state is sinking in a sea of red ink.

Its bond rating has been dropped by Standard & Poor’s to almost junk-bond status. An exodus comparable to that of the Dust Bowl in the 1930’s has begun. Fed up with rising crime rates and rising taxes to subsidize illegal aliens people are leaving, as the California they grew up in morphs into Mexifornia.

California is going home to Mexico. Who can deny it? With 100,000 whites leaving California each year and 43 percent of all Californians under eighteen Hispanic, California is becoming – indeed, has become – a Third World state.”

Now……………..

I hope the following 14 reasons are read so many times that the readers get sick of reading them. I have included the URL’s for verification of the following facts.

1. $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year.

9. $200 Billion Dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens.

10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that’s two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0606/12/ldt.01.html

11. During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our Southern Border also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from Terrorist Countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroine and marijuana, crossed into the U. S from the Southern border.

12. The National Policy Institute, ‘estimated that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period.’

EC Leg receives Upstate update

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

“The goal is to spend the $1 billion, but all of it in Upstate,”

That statement sends shivers up my spine… Like when I was in the Army we HAD to spend the whole budget or lose that portion in the next years budget. Now I have a bunch of questions and would love to hear details, not just focus on the sound bytes. Sound bytes always sound great, the devil is in the details.

Who is going to be in charge of “spending” this money, how is it going to be spent, who is accountable for what is spent, is this going to be run like the IDA’s where only the IDA’s are scrutinized and not the companies that are given the tax breaks and incentives. The IDA’s now have to respond to the state for monies distributed but now the budgets they have end up being sucked up by the new bureaucracies that have been created.

Very rarely does government investment ever work, all it does is end up growing out of control, then end up as an authority and we curse it for years after because it gets away with sucking more money out of our pockets.

Call me skeptical.

EC Leg receives Upstate update – Business First of Buffalo:

The proposed $1 billion upstate economic development revitalization plan was met with a rousing, but also frank, greeting as a state official outlined the proposal to the Erie County Legislature.

Christina Orsi, Empire State Development Corp. regional director, spent more than one hour detailing the initiative, which is considered the backbone of efforts to reinvigorate the sluggish upstate economy. The meeting was held between Orsi and the legislature’s Economic Development Committee, but several other county lawmakers and representatives were also in attendance.

CONSERVATIVES OPPOSE "AMAZON.COM" TAX

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

supreme-court.gif

See, as we get closer to the budget getting passed details start coming out. It’s all well and good that there is a budget, there is an on time budget, but, what is in it? and how are they going to screw us only comes out after the vote.

CONSERVATIVES OPPOSE “AMAZON.COM” TAX

AS WELL AS OTHER BUDGET ENHANCERS AND FEES

Fort Hamilton Station, NY – The New York State Conservative Party is opposed to various “budget enhancers” and increased fees as a way to continue spending at record levels. In their haste to adopt an “on-time” budget, New York Legislators fail to consider the fiscal mayhem they are creating by increasing spending in a budget that already has more than a $4 billion dollar deficit. When they consider defying a United States Supreme Court doctrine, they are essentially sending a message to its citizens that laws can be ignored. New Yorkers, who work very hard for their paychecks, expect more from their elected officials. The following memo is being distributed to all of Albany’s legislators.

Groups Seek End to Personal Use of Campaign Money

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

campaign-cash.jpg

Call me naive but I thought this was illegal. I have run for office 3 different times and each and every time we have to fill out financial reports, we still are to this day. Every dime has to be accounted for and every single dime has to be campaign related.

The hardest part of running for office is raising money, so because of that alone you feel a personal responsibility to spend that money wisely. Of course if money comes easily like the corrupt, controlled incumbents money does,I guess you don’t care how it’s spent. Then that attitude goes right over to how they control our tax dollars.

So apparently we can do what ever we want with campaign cash… It’s easier for them though, in most cases the unions and other special interest groups print, mail, distribute their literature for them. Or they have the benefit of using tax dollars to send out mailings, their staff writes everything, proofs it and sticks it in the mail and we pay for it all.

This is all part of the incumbent protection racket they have created for themselves, challengers do not have a chance, especially real reform minded people like me and others that are affiliated with Primary Challenge.

Groups Seek End to Personal Use of Campaign Money

In the wake of Gov. David A. Paterson’s recent revelations that he used campaign funds to pay for hotel stays with his paramours, furniture and clothing, a group of government watchdog groups came together this afternoon to urge leaders in Albany to ban the personal use of such money.

“We think the culture here is one that is very acceptant and tolerant of things that we believe are wrong,” said Blair Horner, who is the legislative director of the New York Public Interest Research Group, which watches government. “In this particular case,” he said of Mr. Paterson’s admissions, “that is a practice that should not be allowed. Campaign contributions should be used for campaign activities, not to subsidize personal lifestyles.”

Powers, Dollinger win endorsements

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

jon-powers.jpg

Well it looks like Jack Davis has a real challenger on his hands with Jon Powers. And look who came back from D.C. to buy votes…. The ever missing from WNY Slaughter of the innocence. She is never in this end of the district, I wonder if she could even find Grand Island on a map.

Powers, Dollinger win endorsements

Congressional candidate Jon Powers, a Democrat from Clarence, Erie County, won 74 percent of the vote of Greece Democratic committee members on Thursday, ensuring the endorsement of the Monroe County Democratic Committee. The Greece committee also endorsed former state Sen. Rick Dollinger for state Senate over Brighton Supervisor Sandra Frankel and Rochester school board member Willa Powell.

Greece Democrats held a joint meeting with their counterparts in Parma, who also chose Powers and Dollinger. (more…)

Albany politicos reach agreement on how much to spend

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

people-for-open-government-cartoon.jpg

Albany politicos reach agreement on how much to spend, that’s a scary thought isn’t it? I think so, one of these years I would love to see a headline that says,”Albany leaders decide to downsize, cut and streamline government”. Well it’s a dream I know.

wxxi NewsRoom

ALBANY, NEW YORK (2008-03-27) Governor David Paterson and legislative leaders say they’ve passed the first major hurdle on the way to a state budget- they’ve agreed on how much money to spend, and how to pay for it all.

Long Island: The 51st state?

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

long-island51st-state.gif

As much as I agree with splitting this state,I think they have an uphill battle here…

U.S. Constitution: Article IV, Section 3. New states may be admitted by the Congress into this union; but no new states shall be formed or erected within the jurisdiction of any other state; nor any state be formed by the junction of two or more states, or parts of states, without the consent of the legislatures of the states concerned as well as of the Congress.

I still say take the point at Albany and split it from there. Our biggest problem is we have to bow down and kiss the rings of the Albany leadership to do anything. We do not have control of our end of the state, they do for everything and they like it that way. What we need to do is get government control back to us on the local levels and not in the hands of politicians 300 miles away.

Long Island: The 51st state?

Long Island — bigger than 19 states and more populous than all but the country’s three largest cities — is big enough to stand on its own, secede and become the 51st state, said Suffolk Comptroller Joseph Sawicki.
