See, as we get closer to the budget getting passed details start coming out. It’s all well and good that there is a budget, there is an on time budget, but, what is in it? and how are they going to screw us only comes out after the vote.

Fort Hamilton Station, NY - The New York State Conservative Party is opposed to various “budget enhancers” and increased fees as a way to continue spending at record levels. In their haste to adopt an “on-time” budget, New York Legislators fail to consider the fiscal mayhem they are creating by increasing spending in a budget that already has more than a $4 billion dollar deficit. When they consider defying a United States Supreme Court doctrine, they are essentially sending a message to its citizens that laws can be ignored. New Yorkers, who work very hard for their paychecks, expect more from their elected officials. The following memo is being distributed to all of Albany’s legislators.

BUDGET ENHANCERS AND FEES….Bills that enacts into law major components of legislation necessary to implement the revenue budget for the 2008-2009 Budget.

Party Position: The New York State Conservative Party is firmly opposed to any additional fiscal gimmicks designed to collect more money for the state to continue funding failed programs and unnecessary spending of taxpayer’s money.

When members of the Legislature continue to cave to special interest groups seeking to enrich their pet programs by initiating new fees and taxes, the message to our senior citizens, working mothers and fathers struggling to make ends meet and our young college graduates eager to put their skills to work, is simple: Leave New York, we do not want you here.

If the legislature defies the United States Supreme Court’s Quill doctrine, Quill Corporation v. North Dakota, 504 U. S. 298 (1992), and passes what has come to be known as the “Amazon.Com” tax, there is very little hope that our citizens will ever see an end to the ways that elected officials reach deeply into our pockets and take our money.

No other state in our Nation has enacted, nor to the best of our knowledge, seeks to enact this outrageous new way to take part of a New York citizen’s paycheck.

It is time for our elected officials to say no to those who spend thousands of dollars on radio advertisements seeking to redistribute the earnings of those of us who still want to live in New York. If elected officials continue on the path of increased spending…New Yorker’s will find a state that respects its citizens.
