Dallas Officer Injured in Crash While Escorting Clinton Motorcade

A Dallas police motorcycle officer who was escorting Hillary Clinton’s motorcade crashed Friday, and has been taken away in an ambulance.

The unidentified officer had been escorting the Democratic presidential candidate to a campaign rally when the accident happened on the Houston Street viaduct.

Before being taken away, the officer was lying face down in what appeared to be a large pool of blood, while another officer rubbed his back. The motorcycle was badly damaged, and the officer’s helmet and debris were strew across the street, by a long set of skid marks.

Dallas police spokesman Sgt. Gil Cerda said he had no information on the crash, which happened shortly after 9 a.m. The officer’s condition is not known.
