Let me start by saying I was a Fred Thompson and then Duncan Hunter supporter so my horse is no longer in this race. The one that closest to my beliefs now is Ron Paul and we do not see eye to eye on National Security and the War. Let me also say this, no matter what a candidate says, they will NOT be able just to yank the troops out of Iraq, we all may want them home and home now but it simply will not happen if Obama is elected like he is saying in his speeches.
So who will I end up supporting in this election? Good question. When George Bush was thrust upon us 8 years ago I didn’t like him either and the main reason why is because he, like McCain was thrust upon us as the candidate of the Party whether you like it or not. Well I didn’t and I don’t. Bush and Congress have the lowest ratings in the nations history, why? We are going the the wrong direction. Spending through the roof, the debt through the roof and they continue to take and spend OUR money like there is a bottomless pit of it and you know what, there is according to them. They need it, they have it printed, further driving down the value of the US dollar. Who’s at fault? All of them, every single member of Congress and the Executive branch.
We have been in a free fall since the end of the Reagan era. I served in the Army under Carter right after Vietnam, he destroyed the economy. When I bought a house in Leominster Mass in 1980 I paid a 17% interest rate. So much for Carter and his economics.
So who is my standard bearer? So much talk lately about Reagan and JFK. First of all Kennedy was a Democrat yet if he were on the ballot today he would be running as a Republican. Don’t believe it? Just look at his policies. Neither Obama, Clinton or any other Democrat has the same economic out look of cutting taxes, eliminating excessive government, regulations and intrusions into our lives as Kennedy did.
I was a registered Democrat until 1992 when I re registered as a Conservative. Ronald Reagan was the first Republican I ever voted for. Reagan’s economic policies, his right on opinions and actions on Communism and his promotion of the New American Patriotism was what hooked me. He is still IMHO the best political communicator of all time. No one comes close to him and are not even worthy of holding his coattails. Like Ronald Reagan said, Government is not the answer to our problems, government IS the problem.
Take some time, read JFK’s policies and listen to Reagan in these You Tube clips. In my humble opinion we are going further and further to the left in this country. Whether it be Clinton, Obama, McCain or Huckabee, we are headed in the wrong direction and getting dangerously all to close to a Socialist nation. If we do this countries existence as the longest lasting Constitutional, Representative Republic is in danger. Once again we are stuck voting for the lesser of two evils and not looking for the Leader we need.

Politics is supposed to be the second oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first.

We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.
We should measure welfare’s success by how many people leave welfare, not by how many are added.
