Upstate’s highest gas prices found in Buffalo - Business First of Buffalo:

Gasoline is more expensive in the Buffalo area than anywhere else in Upstate New York.

A Monday report by the American Automobile Association pegs the average price of gas at $3.279 per gallon in Erie and Niagara counties. That’s a cent and a half higher than any other Upstate metropolitan area.

Utica-Rome and Rochester are the runners-up, with per-gallon averages of $3.265 and $3.262, respectively.

Binghamton, at $3.153 per gallon, has the cheapest gasoline across Upstate.

AAA releases daily estimates for metros across the country, based on its survey of credit-card purchases at self-service stations. Monday’s report puts the national average at $2.977 per gallon, 30 cents lower than Buffalo’s figure.
