Petition To Reinstate Dennis Delano

Friday, February 29th, 2008

dennisdelano.jpg

Please consider signing this petition. I find it appalling what they are doing to Detective Delano. It smells of a cover-up to me. Unless some facts come out from this secretive government that proves us wrong, Delano needs to be reinstated and the investigation into the death of Crystallynn Girard should be reopened. What say you?

Petition To Reinstate Dennis Delano

By participating in this online petition, I am requesting The Buffalo Police Department to come forward and not only reinstate Dennis Delano to full duty on the force but to address the people of the community on this issue. Furthermore, I request an independent and outside investigation be started into the death of Crystallynn Girard.

Please click here to participate in the petition to have Dennis Delano reinstated on The Buffalo Police Force and have an independent and objective investigation into the death of Crystallynn Girard opened.

Schumer calls for increased oil exploration in National Forests

Friday, February 29th, 2008

alaska-oil-drilling.jpg

Schumer calls for increased oil exploration in National Forests….? Is he and the Democrats finally feeling the heat? First of all taxing the big oil companies like they want to is going to drive up the costs, get that off the table, don’t you all get enough tax revenue from them and US. Bush better veto that. Why not drill in old Military Bases? I thought that was a great idea when it was put forth years ago. Or are they saving them for future concentration camps for Conservatives.

First thing that we have to do is build more refineries, we do not have the capacity to keep on hand the oil we need, we are now importing already refined gasoline from the middle east. So first build some refineries, drill in Anwar, we know there is plenty of oil there.

We need to get away from the addiction to oil, what we also need is better technology to power our vehicles so that they are affordable. Something needs to be done and now so the first step needs to be refineries.

Oil Prices Hit Record High; Impact on Gasoline

DeWitt, New York (WSYR-TV) – It’s another sign that gas prices will probably be heading higher – oil prices surpassed $103 a barrel for the first time Friday as persistent weakness in the U.S. dollar and the prospect of lower interest rates attracted fresh money to the oil market.

Black Leader: Democratic Party Architect of Racism

NBRA Chairman Frances Rice with Texas Railway Commissioner Michael Williams in Orlando

I just received this via e-mail and had to post the comment that came with it. The e-mailer is exactly right.

I have been saying this for years about the dems. I call them the new slaveholders. I believe that the dem party leadership is constitutionally dishonest and that they could not tell the truth if their lives depended on it. Look at Harry Ried of the senate and Nancy Pelosi of the house of representatives if you have any doubt about that. Look at Hillary. Look at Bill. Look at them all. Of course, the Republicans don’t always do so well either, but they pale by comparison to the hypocrisy and lies of the national democrat party leadership.

Black Leader: Democratic Party Architect of Racism

By: Ronald Kessler

Frances Rice, chairman of the National Black Republican Association, describes the Democratic Party as the architect of modern day racism.

Rice, a retired Army lieutenant colonel and lawyer, says in an interview it was Republicans who pushed through much of the ground-breaking civil rights legislation in Congress. Now, she says, Republicans stand for empowering blacks to help them out of poverty. In contrast, Rice says, the Democrats push to keep blacks dependent on government handouts and encourage them to see themselves as victims.

Hillary Is Ruining Her Own Chances

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

This is almost exactly what I sad over a month ago. If Hillary tries to steal the nomination using the super delegates as she has said, we can only hope the Democrats stand up and tell her where to go.

Hillary Is Ruining Her Own Chances
By: Dick Morris and Eileen McGann

Barack Obama’s victory in Wisconsin on Tuesday was just the latest sign that Hillary Clinton’s desperate, anti-democratic moves to salvage her bid for the Democratic nomination are destroying her last chances to win a fair fight.

Loudly and publicly, the Clintons proclaim that superdelegates should feel free to ignore the wishes of the folks back home and jam Hillary’s nomination through at the convention. They openly predict that they’ll demand the seating of the Michigan and Florida delegations, totally contravening the party’s rules.

Brian Higgins – Abolish the Thruway Authority – MIA – Lousie Slaughter

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

brian-higgins.jpg

Congressman Higgins calling for the abolishment of the Thruway Authority is a very big step in the right direction, my question is and has been where is my Congressional Representative Louise Slaughter? She has been MIA throughout this whole toll battle. If she would only spend less time in Washington DC and more time in this district then she would be aware of what has been going on here.

What does it tell you when Brian Higgins a Congressman from out of this district has to bring to our attention of an issue out of his district. Thank you Brian, Thank you for standing up for us when Slaughter won’t.

This district under the leadership of Slaughter has got to be the worst and most under represented in the country. We never hear anything from her unless she is simply badmouthing President Bush and the Republican in Washington DC. How about representing us and doing something about this critical issue. To much time in DC lining her pockets instead of going after the waste fraud and abuses going on right under her nose here in WNY. What a waste.

Thruway Authority Pulls Funding for Another WNY Project
February 28th, 2008 Local News

Brian Higgins Says: “…for the good of the public we have no choice but to abolish the New York State Thruway Authority…”

“Today I learned that the New York State Thruway Authority is again turning its back on Western New York by rescinding funding for a $45 million project planned for Grand Island, New York and transferring money promised to this region to another downstate project.

The Thruway Authority justified their 2005 toll increase with the need to fund several local projects including the one planned for Grand Island. This represents a disturbing pattern of promises made and promises broken by the Authority. Between 2007 and 2010 the Authority will fall $200 million short in promised projects in the Thruway’s Buffalo Division. (more…)

Disclaimer: I did not create this photo of Chelsea and this T-Shirt.

Experience this: “Both Senator Obama and I would make history. But only one of us is ready on Day One to be commander in chief, ready to manage our economy and ready to defeat the Republicans. Only one of us has spent 35 years being a doer, a fighter and a champion for those who need a voice.” —Hillary Clinton

**“She’s ready on day one ‘to defeat the Republicans’? If there is a day one, wouldn’t she already have defeated them? But we suppose what she’s really promising is another ‘permanent campaign.’ Anyone want to vote for that?” —James Taranto

THE FOUNDATION: PUBLIC SPEAKING

but a savior might have more to say

THE FOUNDATION: PUBLIC SPEAKING
“Amplification is the vice of modern oratory.” —Thomas Jefferson

DEZINFORMATSIA
Enthralled by nothing in particular: “If you’ve never been to an Obama rally before, a word of advice, go early. Think Springsteen concerts, but the tickets are free. First come, first serve. In Boise, Idaho, a few weeks back it couldn’t have been more than 15 degrees out. But outside Taco Bell Arena early on a Saturday morning, everyone waited patiently because inside— inside, they felt the warm glow of hope.” —ABC’s David Wright “I’m in the demographic where everyone I know among my friends is in love with Obama… It’s kind of like being 13 and seeing Shawn Cassidy and we’re all just on board… So we’re not embarrassed when we get together. We just talk about how much we love Obama. … We know we’re being fooled, but we kind of like it. I can’t get off his ride, it’s too good.” —Los Angeles Times columnist Joel Stein

New York Faces Double Whammy as Swaps Compound Failed Auctions

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Well so much for the surplus in Buffalo’s budget, I wonder how Erie County is fairing? We have had an influx of sales taxes from Canadians so we have a surplus but this has to be digging into that too.

If we could only stop borrowing so frikin much and learn how to pay as we go… Never mind, I feel like a broken record, our politicos will never get it.

The annualized rate on $63 million of auction bonds the city of Buffalo, New York, sold in 2005 jumped 7.7 percentage points when a Feb. 14 auction failed, triggering the penalty rate of 11 percent proscribed in the terms of the deal. That’s almost 9 percentage points more than the floating rate it got from a swap with New York-based Citigroup Inc. Adding in the fixed rate of 3.17 percent, the city paid more than 12 percent that week.

“It hasn’t always been like that,” said Anthony Farina, executive assistant comptroller in Buffalo.

Before rates soared, Buffalo had about $400,000 saved because the variable interest on the swap exceeded its payments on the bonds, Farina said. That cushion is shrinking because in the week after the Feb. 14 auction, it paid $134,803 in interest on the bonds and received $26,753 from the agreement. The fixed- rate payment was $38,875.

Comptroller says job-creation authorities risk loss of tax-break powers

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

bribe-idas.jpg

It’s about time these IDA’s and Authorities start being held accountable. We have given so many tax breaks to favored people and businesses and it seems no one ever follows up to check their progress and holding up their side of the deal. More than not the tax breaks end and the company leaves. So who benefits?

What we need is tax breaks and cuts across the board to keep businesses and people here. Not just the favored few.

Comptroller says job-creation authorities risk loss of tax-break powers unless they toe line on reports

ALBANY — State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli on Wednesday warned the state’s industrial development agencies to clean up their act — or risk losing their ability to issue some tax breaks.

DiNapoli released a report saying too many of the agencies charged with generating economic development are failing to report financial and job creation information to state regulators, as required.
