Happy New Year
Monday, December 31st, 2007New Laws in New York for 2008
Monday, December 31st, 2007
Hmmmm… I still think that for every Law that is passed in Albany they need to rescind one or two or three.
As the New Year approaches, we take a look at some of the new laws that could have an impact on you in 2008.
Those new laws run the gamut — and will effect how much money you pay in taxes and just where the money you “do” pay goes.
There are more than a dozen new laws taking effect on January 1, but one that will cut property tax bills may be the one that will have the biggest affect on the most of us.

State should speed Huntley power plant conversion
Monday, December 31st, 2007
Ms. Iannello needs to ask her governor these questions. This Huntley deal was approved by former governor Pataki and has stalled with Spitzer. And then Spitzer turns around and decides to charge electric plants for carbon off sets. From what I have read Huntley will be required to pay over 60 Million a year to buy carbon off sets. That will most likely put them out of business or make their electric rates so high and unaffordable they will have to pass off the costs to the consumer.
ALBANY, Oct. 23 New York Times. — New York is one of more than a dozen states, led by California, preparing to sue the Bush administration for holding up efforts to regulate emissions from cars and trucks, several people involved in the lawsuit said on Tuesday.
The move comes as New York and other Northeastern states are stepping up their push for tougher regulation of greenhouse gases as part of their continuing opposition to President Bush’s policies.
On Wednesday, Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s administration is to issue regulations requiring power plants to pay for their greenhouse gas emissions, part of a broader plan among 10 Northeastern states, known as the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative,

I represent the 10th Legislative District in Erie County, and the Huntley Plant in the Town of Tonawanda is very important to me. Thus, I was most appreciative of the recent Buffalo News editorial regarding Huntley and the potential new investment by NRG Energy at the Tonawanda site.

America Needs A Leader Like This!
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation’s mosques. Quote: ‘IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.’

Why do we pay for these lawsuits? This is insanity, we subsidize the school, we pay salaries, pensions, health care, and now we pay the Attorney Generals office to defend them in Discrimination lawsuits? How many millions have we paid to do this? Maybe we should ask AG Cuomo or the former AG now Governor Spitzer. What a viscous circle.

Thursday, December 27th, 2007
Fox showed Hillary! speaking about Bhutto, her dear friend for over12 years. She sends condolences to Bhutto’s two children. Bhutto has three children. You’d think a DEAR FRIEND would know that. Heads will roll over that mis statement.
Gee, Hillary only used “I” nine times… It’s all about me, like she is the only one affected by this. How sad and shallow she is.
She is dancing in Bhutto’s blood to enhance her own candidacy.
