
Because of Spitzer’s attempt to give illegals a vote in New York (by giving the a recognized ID) real New Yorkers will likely find normal use of NY Driver’s Licenses curtailed boarding aircraft and entering federal buildings. Spitzer’s actions may be making a NY driver’s license as valuable as a bucket of warm spit.

Before issuing a DL/ID, a state shall require and verify valid documentary evidence that the person: (i) is a U.S. citizen, (ii) is an alien lawfully admitted for permanent or temporary residence, (iii) has a conditional permanent resident status, (iv) ) is a refugee or has been granted asylum, (v) has a valid, unexpired nonimmigrant visa or nonimmigrant visa status, (vi) has a pending application for asylum, (vii) has a pending or approved application for temporary protected status, (viii) has approved deferred status, or (ix) has a pending application for adjustment of status to that of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence or conditional permanent resident status

In any case in which a state issues a DL/ID that does not satisfy the federal requirements, a state shall ensure that that the DL/ID: (A) clearly states on its face that it may not be accepted for federal identification or any other official purpose, and (B) uses a unique design or color indicator to alert federal agencies or other law enforcement personnel that it may not be accepted for any such purpose

Why Spitzer’s Agenda Is Dangerous for America

An October 21st New York Times editorial defends the order by Governor Eliot Spitzer permitting illegal aliens to receive New York State drivers’ licenses.
Currently, it is necessary for every driver’s license applicant to present to the Department of Motor Vehicles a Social Security number or a letter from the Social Security Administration explaining why the applicant has no Social Security number. Under the governor’s new executive order, applicants will need only to present a passport issued by the United States or any foreign government for identification purposes. The presentation of such a foreign passport cannot verify that the applicant has not overstayed his or her legal presence in the United States and some say counterfeit passports are available for purchase.
