Everything is done so far away in Albany, we should bring this down to the local levels and have Albany concentrate of eliminating the unfunded mandates as in forcing us to have so many emoployees, forced wages and benefits, taxes and the over all cost of government.
Assembly plans to pass passel of business-related bills - The Business Review (Albany):
The creation of a state office to assist firms with fewer than five employees is one of the bills the New York State Assembly plans to pass.
The legislation, which is also sponsored in the Republican-controlled state Senate, would establish a state microbusiness center.
Other legislation the Assembly says it will pass includes:
* Authorization for credit unions to participate in the state’s Excelsior Linked Deposit Program, which provides incentives for financial institutions to make small business loans at a lower percentage than the prevailing rate.
* Establishing the “New York Entrepreneur of the Year Award” to provide $25,000 to an individual with the most original idea that benefits the small businesses sector.
* Creating a low-interest loan program for energy improvement projects.
* Requiring the Department of Economic Development to help provide financial and technical assistance to businesses that need to comply with state environmental laws.
