Well I was just interviewed by Channel 7’s Melanie Pritchard , what I think was a great interview. Every time there ius any kind of activity with the tolls, I get calls from the media. All of them want to know my opinion and I do not hesitate in responding. Steve Cichon from WBEN last night too and there are highlights running on the radio today.

Yesterday the Thruway Authority was in town promoting their “Free Internet” at rest areas. Steve Cichon tried to pin down the representitive from the Thruway Authority on an opinion with the Grand Island tolls, as per usual they continue to try and ignore us or better still they continue to spew forth the falacy of needing the toll revenue for maintenance of the bridges. I am really getting tired of that arguement, I have already proven it to be false. In fact we lose money with the tolls on the bridges.

Now that we have their attention I would like to give them some information and my opinion on the tolls in Western New York. First let’s look at the Fairness issue. There is no other way for us to get home and no other route for commuters to drive to work from Niagara Falls and Buffalo. If they had completed the LaSalle Expressway as it was intended, we would not have an issue here now would we.

The LaSalle Expressway was originally intended to go from the 290 (Youngman) to the 190 in Niagara Falls. The road goes to Sears, actually to William St and ends. Some say polticians sold off some of the land for a housing development so the road could not be finished… Try to find information on that, good luck. If you find any real logical reason as to why it wasn’t finished, I would love to hear it.

The traffic is a nightmare on Niagara Falls Blvd already so people that use that route as an excuse has already lost. The road was never built to handle the traffic they are handling now. It is a business district road and not a thruway.

Recent visitors to the web site NoGItolls and this one reading the Foil and all these articles posted here in Albanysinsanity.. Seems pretty amazing that the Thruway Authority has been here for over 40 hours, don’t they have work to do controlling traffic and the billions of dollars they take out of our pockets? Interesting.
