I agree and have been calling for Bruno and Silver to step down. I do not trust either of them.

We have got to get people into office that are there to represent the people and not their own special interest and that is themselves. I don’t care if they are Republicans or Democrats, if you are there to fullfil your own self serving interests, step down or be thrown out. I am sickened by the amount of corruption people like Hevesi and the assembly members have gotten away with, some have paid fines and continued to serve. Hevesi get’s his pension… He’s a felon.

Time to get up off our apathy and take back our government.

recordonline.com - GOP county leaders join Bonacic’s call for Bruno to step down
State Sen. John Bonacic has mustered a trio of accomplices in the mutiny he’s trying to organize against embattled Senate boss Joe Bruno.

Republican chiefs Martin Donnelly, Joe LiGreci and Pete Savago, who lead GOP committees in Delaware, Sullivan and Ulster counties, respectively, say they back their local senator’s call for Bruno to step down as Senate majority leader.

On Thursday, Bonacic, R-C-Mount Hope, became the first Senate Republican to publicly ask Bruno to step aside as a federal investigation into his private business interests unfolds.

As of yesterday, no other Senate Republicans had publicly joined the insurrection against Bruno. Instead, Bonacic claimed the backing of three of the four county bosses from his sprawling district.

“A lot of the chairs in the Republican Party I’ve been talking to agree it’s time for a change in leadership,” said LiGreci, Sullivan’s GOP leader. “We needed someone to step forward and take the initiative. Senator Bonacic has done that.”

Savago, the party’s Ulster chairman, said Bruno should have disclosed the investigation to the senators when he learned about it months ago. “If you’re being investigated by the FBI, you’re not playing with kids’ toys,” he said.

The sentiments were echoed by Donnelly, who leads the GOP’s Delaware committee. The fourth Republican leader from Bonacic’s district, Orange County Republican Chairman Bill DeProspo, did not return a call for comment.

But party leaders to the south of Bonacic’s district, namely Sen. Tom Morahan, R-New City, and Rockland Republican Chairman Vinnie Reda, rejected the growing rebellion. Morahan said it was “presumptive” to call for Bruno’s ouster.

“There’s no indictments here, only an investigation,” Reda said. “I see no reason for (Bruno) to step down. He’s a good leader and it appears to me he has broad-based support.”
