I cannot wait to see the detailed list of ammendments that were added to secure the votes. Once again the Erie County Legislature snubs their nose at the people, they truly think they are above us and will continue to spew the BS.

News - Control Board Member: Lots of Holes in 2007 Budget

Control Board members are taking a first look at the changes that the Erie County Legislature made to Joel Giambra’s 2007 budget plan, and the reviews are not good.

Board member Sheila Kee: “I don’t think the budget’s in balance.”

Board Executive Director Ken Vetter: “Show me the money, we really want to see the tough decisions being made.”

The Board had rejected Giambra’s 2007 budget and his four-year financial plan saying it “was not credible and out of balance.” That’s what led to the Board going hard.

Now, board members are saying some changes the legislature made to Giambra’s budget proposal may have actually made the situation worse.

Legislature Chairwoman Lynn Marinelli says she and her colleagues worked with Control Board members as they put their package of changes together, and will continue to work with the Board in the weeks and months ahead.
