What an amazing victory! I hope and pray that this recent election will serve as a wake up call to entrenched incumbents throughout the state of New York. We have sent a clear message that, “Your seat is not permanent! The people deserve more! And if you do not begin to work for and with the people of this great state, you can, and will be overthrown!”

To the special interests and the corrupt influences, let the word go out that I cannot be bought. I will not be bullied. And I will not back down. This election was nothing short of a mini-revolution and marked the first time in decades that a grassroots candidate without committee support has been able to oust such an entrenched Albany insider. The people have spoken, and now it is up to all of us to continue with this momentum all the way to November and push for an overwhelming victory once again!

I have extended an olive branch to the Assemblyman and his Campaign and all of his supporters and look forward to working with them in earnest to revitalize, rebuild and strengthen the Republican party, for this generation and the next. Furthermore, we must also begin to reach out to non-Republicans who are also fed up with a state government that is hopelessly dysfunctional, entirely arrogant and wholly ineffective.

I will reach out over the next few months to independent voters, those unaffiliated with any party and to reform minded democrats. The time for change is here, and I have a “big tent” philosophy of inclusion and consideration for the next few months. The issues I have hit upon cross party lines, and my commitment to reform is not a Republican commitment. It is a heartfelt belief that this state is in trouble, and that only comprehensive reform and deep rooted change will change the way Albany functions for the better.
