A True Story about Dirty Politics…

The day before the Republican Convention, an unsigned letter was sent to Republican mailboxes, attacking Greg Ball’s military service record. In response, the Following letter was sent by the Ball Campaign on May 23rd:

Fellow Republican

The recent letter (attacking my military service) that made it’s way to Republican Committeeperson mailboxes throughout the 99th Assembly District, was the written product of cowardice, insanity and deception. Let me state this unequivocally:

Every line of misinformation in that delusional mailing was absolute garbage.

As I have campaigned over the past year, I have been strengthened in my resolve and in my loyalty to the Republican Party locally. In my opinion, we are blessed to have some of the finest Republicans in the state serving in our counties, towns and villages. Indeed, once elected, I look forward to working with all of you and many of the elected Republican officials to build a strong and thriving Republican Party locally. For these reasons, I am saddened by this mindless attack.

As politics goes, maybe part of the blame for this incendiary attack upon my character is mine, for I have not spent the time necessary detailing my biography to the public at large. Rather than focusing upon my record of public service and my opponent’s lack of military service, I have focused on the larger issues at hand. That said, here are the facts:

Please do not reward the politics of personal destruction. Politics is dirty enough without the introduction of false information and outright lies. We mustn’t lower the dignity of the political process even more than it is currently. Let us all begin to expect more from each other, and more from ourselves, and more from our elected officials, as a state and as a nation.

In sum, let this be very clear. I will not be bullied, I cannot be bought, and I will not be intimidated. The people deserve better.

I have said that a few time myself.
From some of the email communications I have had with Greg, he has impressed me as a man with Integrity and Guts.. We have endorsed Greg with NewYorkCoalition, if you are in his district which is the 99th Assembly, email him and give the guy a helping hand.
